Racing driver
Jacob Webber of Corydon-based Webber Racing has concluded a team sponsorship program with Tempe, Ariz.-based LifeLock.
LifeLock is the industry leader in the rapidly growing field of Identity Theft Protection, and Webber Racing is a
late model racing team owned and operated by Michael and Tracy Webber.
The Webber's are already backed by primary
sponsor Lucas Oil, Inc. of Corydon, Indiana and Corona, California.
We are all LifeLock subscribers, and we were
excited to see LifeLock's sponsorship of NASCAR's LifeLock 400 in Kansas.
Eighteen-year-old Jacob Webber's
interest in racing began when he first tried recreational karting at age 4. In July 2005, at the age of 14, Jacob officially
launched his racing career when he qualified to compete in the Evansville-based UMP Dirt Car Racing Series. Only able to enter
seven races due to age limitations his first year, Jacob still earned Rookie of the Year honors and finished ninth overall
in points at Thunder Valley Raceway in Salem. During 2007, as Jacob honed his driving skills, his parents purchased local
businesses to further support their racing team.
In 2008, the Webber Racing Team, competed in the Late Model division
driving a2008 Mastersbilt Chassie. The 2009 season will feature a 2009 Late Model Rocket Chassie.
The
race cars resemble sleek stock cars. Under aluminum bodies, each 2,300-pound car is constructed of advanced steel tubing and
typically powered by a Chevrolet, Ford or Mopar 800-horsepower V-8 engine.
"The Webber's are an extremely
hard working and proud family, and they have put everything into Jacob's racing career," said Jarrett Boon, director
of business development for LifeLock. "We are pleased to work with Webber Racing on a regional revenue sharing program
that promotes the team and builds grassroots support for LifeLock."
In addition to Lucas Oil and LifeLock,
Webber Racing is also sponsored by Howard Packaging and family owned Special Care Laundromat located in Corydon,
Indiana.
LifeLock's revenue-sharing program provides a means for the Webber's to fund and grow their racing
venture and position the team for long-term success. As Jacob's ultimate goal is to one day be a serious competitor in
NASCAR, the Webber family's partnership with LifeLock puts him one step closer to victory lane.
LifeLock is
offering a discount through Webber Racing.
